Daniel Harrington

Head Sumiller

Hi,
My name is Dani, and I have been working in and around Wine and Spirits for the better part of 18 years. What really made me fall in love with wine was the time I spent working for Oddbins, a truly unique experience with a very eccentric team of wine lovers. I started as a wine advisor and worked my way up to store manager as well as dabbling in B2B sales and wine tastings. I continued my wine journey working at the Bristol branch of Hotel Du Vin, an eloquent and highly regarded boutique hotel that offers truly exceptional wines to customers who appreciate the finer things. As Assistant Head Sommelier and later Bar Manager, I was responsible for all things Wine and Cocktail related, including wine tastings, wine education, bar training, and all things related to the theatre of wine. I consider myself a different breed of Sommelier, I try to make every interaction memorable whilst helping people to see beyond the marketing and the fashions that might hinder them from discovering their actual taste in wine. Like a wine anarchist of sorts!

Shota Shengelia

Winemaker

Hello, my name is Shota, I‘m from Georgia, I’m 28 years old. My first contact with a bunch of grapes dates back to my deep childhood when I was 7 years old helping my grandfather in the vineyard and pressing the wine. Since my grandfather is a 6th generation winemaker, of course I learned a lot from him. Making wine with my grandfather was my favorite activity as a child, and not only did, I make it my profession. I studied for 4 years at the Georgian Agrarian University in the winemaking and viticulture program and graduated with a bachelor‘s degree, but wine is inexhaustible, its learning never ends, every day I look for new aromas and varietal diversity. One day, I received my dream offer to travel from Georgia to Spain, in particular to Mallorca, to work as a head sommelier, and also in the vineyards of many of our company’s partner winemakers, where I would learn even more about new varieties. Of course I accepted this offer and today I work with an extraordinary group, we all share the love of wine. Every day, we try hard to introduce new trends, give more emotions to our customers and speak our word in a world full of wine and love.
